Ms. Cusack graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago, Jane Addams School of Social Work in 2001 with a Masters degree in Social Work. Ms. Cusack has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2003 and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Clinical Social Work at The Institute for Clinical Social Work.

Ms. Cusack began her career working with adolescent girls in a group home setting. In this position she gained experience with a wide range of clinical issues including: physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and trauma; and gained much experience with a broad range of emotional and behavioral disorders. She subsequently worked as an in-home family therapist, serving high-risk multi-problem families. In this position she developed expertise with a variety of issues including: severe youth conduct disorders, depression, anxiety, parenting concerns, parenting skills, trauma, abuse, and family dysfunction. Ms. Cusack has also worked in private practice, gaining additional expertise with women's issues, anxiety, mood disorders, and transitions of young adulthood.

Ms. Cusack has worked extensively with children, adolescents, and their families. She has particular expertise in helping children and adolescents learn more effective coping skills, cope with family transitions, and overcome depression and anxiety. Ms. Cusack also specializes in working with adults with mood and anxiety disorders, and with a wide range of women's issues.

Ms. Cusack uses warmth and empathy to create a safe environment for clients to explore their issues and learn new skills. Her approach to therapy is goal oriented. She works with her clients to build on their existing strengths to help them find more workable solutions to their problems. Ms. Cusack draws on a number of therapeutic approaches in her work including family systems, psychodynamic, and cognitive behavioral.

Ms. Cusack has also instructed Psychology at the undergraduate level and has presented in the community on topics such as stress management and balancing work and personal life.
